Went to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta this weekend, and tucked just under the ceiling amid familiar names and other new acquaintances was a series of screaming signs by Allen Ruppersberg. If my particular aesthetic subset of my corner of my generation could have put into font what it wanted to say at this uncomfortable juncture of youth and ennui and panic and quiet desperation, I think it would have come out a lot like this. But twenty feet high, nailed to a skyscraper.
